poor girl

Rootin' Tootin' Cowgirl mastered the lie-down, sit-up, fight, fight, fight! motion two days ago.

Unfortunately for her, this means she must follow that well-known tenet: practice makes perfect.

Unfortunately for me, this means that I will be soothing a rather upset little girl multiple times in the wee hours.

Little Miss Itty Bitty will be completely asleep, doing what all of us do: breathing, stretching, snoring (oh, yes, you do), and rolling over...when her body, in an attempt to perfect its newly gained mobility, will go the rogue route and instead of rolling to her other side for more snoozing, it will sit her right up in bed.

We walk in to see a mostly asleep, crying and confused child sitting in her bed in the middle of the night when we all know that she should be asleep.

It is a sad sight indeed.

Poor little girl.

I'm having a hard time imagining this but it sounds funny (sorry) nonetheless.
I also might check out the author whose books you just finished. Here's another author I have recently discovered: Alexander McCall Smith; I have been reading the Isabel Dalhousie series (there are 3, make sure to read them in order, which I did not). They are pretty quick and easy reads.

Aside from the fact that it means we are all deprived a bit in the sleep area, it is a tad funny/interesting.

She is trying her darnedest to crawl as well right now, but her body keeps sitting her up. It is like it has a mind of its own...

Aw! New skills always seem to come with a price, don't they?
