Dancin' Queen

Like many children, our kids love to dance.  In fact, the docking station is a life saver most evenings as we use it while I prepare dinner.  Keeping the kids out of the kitchen and happily involved in something at that time is worth more than I can say.

Normally when E has a school performance, we hear all about it at home and see it many times prior to the event.  This year, I got a measly tidbit about which song her class was performing.  We looked it up one day online and that was that.

The school did a performance of Scrooge this December.  Each class had its moment on stage complete with singing and dancing.  E's class performed right after Scrooge's fiance tells him that she cannot marry him because all he cares about is money.

E is on the far right in the polka-dotted dress.  She is fond of telling everyone "I stealed the show!"; since I am her Mama, I most certainly have to agree!

Boston Bruins

Hello there!  I know, I've been missing.  Right now we are in the process of preparing for a move, so I cannot promise that I'll put much on here, but I do have something for you to take a look at in the meantime.

My friend, K, had a baby boy over two years ago.  Want to guess when I started making this?  Um...shortly after he was born.  Oh, yeah.  That's right.  It took me for-ev-er to finish this.

Mostly this was due to my tendency to start projects and then before finishing them start another.  Also it is because this is knitting and I've been on a crocheting kick...'cause you really care, I know.

I knew that she loves hockey and that she was having a boy, so I figured a hockey player would suffice.  Of course, then it took me forever to finish it...

I found and purchased the pattern here.  I then created my own chart so that he could be the appropriate team colors (her favorite).

As you can see, he's kinda big.  I made the circular logo on his jersey using crochet and I stitched the skate laces and shirt laces with a blunt needle.

Let's all hope that it won't take me two years to figure out how to get it to her...since we live halfway around the world and all.

Not the most interesting, I know, but I am glad that I finished it and just in case it takes me a long time to get it there, this way they can see it.

I hope to have some more posts soon!

Stanley Clan:

Hi there, family!  A few things to keep in mind when viewing the following gems:
  • E is sick.  As in even when she is on acetaminofin and ibuprofen at the same time she still runs a fever, her eye is leaking and her nose is dripping like a leaky faucet.
  • Hence the lack of clothing.  She's not naked; you're welcome.
  • Yes, that is exactly what it is like here on a daily basis.  Quacks and all.
  • Keep your eye on the little one in the background...she is an excellent boogie-er.

Of course, upon viewing that fabulousness, E wanted me to remove all of the parts that had issues, like talking and the quacks.  I cannot do that.  Well, maybe I could if I knew anything about the editing of video, but I know nothing, so I cannot indeed.  Instead, we waited for Boomsk to be playing with something relatively quiet and we tried again.  So for your further viewing pleasure, here is the song and dance in its entirety.

All of this is to say we miss you and are very much looking forward to BWWG 2013.
