June 12 of 12

Hi there! Miss me? People have been asking for photos, so I figured the 12th was a good day to post again. I know that everyone wants to see the new housing, but right now none of our own stuff is in it, so there's really no point. Once we receive our sea shipment and get the place personalized a bit I'll post photos of the house.

For now, here is our 12 of 12 June. All photos were taken in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russian Federation. My camera was still on Spain time, since I had never switched it upon our return to Houston, so the times are approximate. Check out Chad's site to see what everyone else did!

7:30 - Good morning!

11:20 - Apparently we were sleepy this morning because for the first time in forever we fell asleep during Mama's exercise.

11:21 - The view from our front porch; fabulous weather this week!

11:22 - I love these trees; they do change color and lose their needles, but they look fabulous right now because they've all come in and are bright green.

12:10 - A neighbor has a new puppy named Wolfie. Miss Thing really enjoys playing/petting/hugging and as you can see here, feeding the good doggie.

12:15 - A friend of ours has an 8-month old. PJ loves to watch Miss Thing and Wolfie play.

13:15 - Colors! They keep us busy while we wait for our weekend lunch. Mama and Daddy have breakfast and the girl eats chicken or peanut butter and jelly.

13:45 - We LOVE to play "basketballs!" As in, we ask to play every day.

14:00 - This drill? It is apparently for squishing noses. Noses that are sniffing. I have no clue.

17:30 - BATH! We love this and go "swimming" every time.

18:15 - An after bath after nap snack with Daddy. We are watching the inaugural winter X-games on the television. Anyone know what year that was from? The shows here are behind a bit sometimes...

19:00 - Russian Dinner night at the community center.

The best thing was the meat-stuffed Cabbage and the Blini's (crepes, but not sweet, which are stuffed with anything...ours were stuffed with cabbage and apples and were quite delicious). Also present are stuffed pork, parsley potatoes, cold cucumber soup, and three cold salads: Russian (meat, potatoes, and carrots), cabbage (like a cold slaw with extra onion and different dressing) and Olympia (ham, egg, cheese, cucumber).

It was all very yummy; one of the best meals I have enjoyed there. Hope you enjoyed our day!

Best Worst January 12 of 12 EVER

So, my computers? They are infected. As in one doesn't even start up properly AT ALL and the other has some crazy wallpaper telling me that it is infected.

Great.

Since I know NOTHING about these things, I will be taking my computer to get it "fixed" today.

Which means that I won't be posting a 12 of 12 for the day. This makes me sad since it is the last year that Chad is managing it.

I guess that the best I can do is to tell you to head over to his site later today and tomorrow to see what everyone did today.

For me? Just picture me really ticked off and standing in lines at computer places...oh, and staring blankly at the person who tells me what they need to do...

12 of 12 November

Guga, Papa Jim and Grandma are visiting this week. What this means for all of you is that I actually have something worth photographing for this month's 12 of 12. Thanks to Chad for the idea; be sure to check out other participant's contributions.

We traveled up towards Brenham today, so all photos were taken in Washington County, Texas. We visited the Antique Rose Emporium, then went into town and ate lunch at Must Be Heaven. After that we went to see miniature horses at St. Clare Monastery's ranch. We couldn't leave the area without checking out the Bluebell Creamery. Finally we returned home, had dinner and Little Miss had a bath before bed. That was our day; hope you enjoy the photographs!

12 of 12 August

Alternate Title: Shocker, I Know.

The rules for 12 of 12 are simple enough: 12 photos of your day on the twelfth of the month. The difficulty, at least for me, comes in actually taking the photos and/or managing to post them in a timely manner.

Shocker of all shockers, today I have succeeded.

Hence the alternate title.

Thanks to Chad Darnell for the idea and if you'd like to see others' 12 of 12 posts, head to his site for the list.

All photos were taken in Houston, Texas.

8:47 AM - Perpetual Motion, as the child is now called, made this mess in less than five minutes. The better to see the toys, muahaha.

8:49 AM - The two of them play best when I am not officially watching. Growls, squeals, scuffles and laughter lead to this photo. Sit, dogggie, I am snapping my finger at you, so sit!

9:34 AM - Why are we in the car so early? Rocket Man left his flash drive at home so we had to take it to him. At least she is finally in a forward-facing car seat. Hmmm...I think I like this view better.

11:02 AM - Library time! After some singing and reading, the toys and instruments come out. Shake, shake, shake Senora...

11:46 AM - I cut it up and she won't eat it. I hold the apple and she bites it, no dice: she spits it out. She holds it, and wa-la: the apple is swallowed. Mmm, crunchy.

4:09 PM - We are at the playground and this photo is awesome. It is now my desktop photo. I am so fly.

4:30 PM - Perpetual Motion really enjoys traversing the equipment at the playground. Today she insisted on taking her rake and shovel with her. Why? There's no telling...Take me to your leader.

6:00 PM - Dinner. Ready, aim, smoosh, slide, and into the mouth!

6:01 PM - Cooper enjoys hovering at dinner. He awaits morsels patiently, though usually in vain. So far we have been able to prevent feeding from the table. I am sure it is only a matter of time. Sit, doggy! I snap and you listen!

6:04 PM - Dinner is over, and while cleaning up I get her to do her latest trick: Blalah blalah blalah. Blalah blalah blalah.

6:27 PM - Bath time is over and we are ready to head upstairs. First, we need to read some books. Tonight that meant ripping them. Joy. How many books can I get out before I have to go to bed? One, two, one-hundred-ten!

7:37 PM - Now both children are in their beds. Ah, peace.

Thanks for stopping by!

12 of 12 March

Amazed, aren't you?

Yeah, me too.

Thanks goes to Chad for the idea. Head on over there to see what other people did today; I am sure it was way more fun than what I did.

All photos were taken in Houston, Texas.

Here you go:

8:42 - coffee

8:44 - good morning!

9:01 - 67? Seriously? Two days ago it was in the high 80s!

9:46 - bad blogger I've been. Faked a post (will be up tomorrow).

10:22 - cry. baby. cry.

11:36 - walmart.

12:51 - 45? Jeepers.

<----------------------->
We had a melt-down upon our return from walmart. As in, crying for a couple of hours. Followed by not sleeping. Followed, finally, by a short nap. Then, since it was cold and rainy, we went to Hobby Lobby. Upon our return...
<----------------------->

18:53 - and...

18:54 - jump!

18:56 - BC painted this fabulous flamenco lady. It just so happens to be one of my favorite colors, too. Ooh, la, la.

18:56 - Mom painted our home in Spain. Love the tiles. Makes me miss it even more.

18:57 - Yarn. On sale. Enough said.

That is it. Hopefully you all were cry baby free. Check back tomorrow for an almost post.

I'm out.

12 of 12 January

We are finally recovering from a bout of rhino-virus turned respiratory invasion. I hope to post a seven month letter here in the next few days as well as a couple of other items. For today, please enjoy my contribution to Chad's fab idea of 12 photos of the day. Visit his site to see what people all over the world did today.
